Fixwell Appliance Repair

About Fixwell Appliance Repair

Fixwell Appliance Repair is a referral service. We publish plain-language information about refrigerator, washer, dryer, dishwasher, oven and other appliance problems, and we connect people who call with independent appliance repair technicians who work in their area.

Fixwell does not repair appliances. We do not employ technicians, own service vans, stock parts or sell appliances, and we have no local offices. The technician you speak with runs a separate business that sets its own schedule, warranty and terms.

How a call is handled

  • You call the number on this site.
  • The call is routed, by your ZIP code and the appliance, to an independent technician who has agreed to take calls in that area.
  • The technician talks with you, arranges a visit and explains the repair. Any agreement is between you and that business.
  • If no technician is available for your area, you will be told so.

Calls may be answered by a call-routing provider, and they may be recorded or tracked so that routing can be measured and improved.

Disclosure

Fixwell may be compensated by technicians for calls it forwards. This does not affect what our guides say.

What we do not do

  • We do not check each technician's insurance, registrations or certifications on your behalf.
  • We do not guarantee workmanship, arrival times or availability.
  • We do not publish customer reviews or star ratings, because we have no way to verify them.
  • We do not recommend appliance brands or sell appliances.

Before work starts, ask about insurance, the repair plan in writing and the warranty on parts and labor. In California, appliance service dealers register with the Bureau of Household Goods and Services, so ask for the registration number there. Refrigerant work requires EPA Section 608 certification everywhere. The hiring guide lists the questions.

How the content is written

Pages answer the question first and should be useful even if you never call. Figures such as safe food temperatures, appliance life expectancy and water hardness bands come from named public sources (USDA, FDA, NAHB, USGS, NFPA, U.S. Fire Administration) and are attributed on the page. State and city water notes are general; your utility's water quality report is the exact figure.

Images and video clips on this site are AI-generated illustrations of typical appliance repair situations. They are not photographs of jobs done by Fixwell or by technicians it connects you with. See the gallery and the disclaimer.
